Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in California, American evangelical leader, and author of the bestselling The Purpose Driven Life, has posted a video congratulating CRS for 70 years of service to the poor. It is clearly a message to all Catholics. Under the direction of U.S. bishops, CRS has done for the past 70 years what the Church has been doing for the past 2,000 years. The agency is  one manifestation of the generosity and love of the Catholic community in the U.S.

In the video, Warren says that over the last 10 years Saddleback sent out over 21,000 church members to 196 nations to help assist the poor. “And do you know what we found? Everywhere we went Catholic Relief Services or Caritas was already there.”

If you’re a member of the Catholic Church, this message is for you.
